DEN Facts
A Connected World at Your Fingertips
Denver International Airport (DEN) is the 20th busiest airport in the world and the fifth busiest airport in the nation, generating more than $26 billion for the region annually. In 2018, 64.5 million passengers traveled through DEN’s 111 gates. Of those travelers, 65% were origination and destination passengers and 35% were connecting. DEN’s annual international traffic includes nearly three million passengers.
And Third Creek is just ten minutes away.
DEN broke ground on a project in 2018 which will add 39 new gates to the airport by 2021. This project represents a 30% increase in gate capacity, and an opportunity to grow by adding new national and international air carriers. The airport is also undergoing the Great Hall Project, a renovation of DEN’s Jeppesen Terminal. In addition to increasing terminal capacity, the project will enhance security, provide additional airline check-in space and add new dining and retail options.
The airport, which is currently served by 26 airlines with non-stop flights to more than 210 destinations, has received numerous honors, including:
- 2 Best Airport in North America—the highest rated U.S. airport. (2019 Skytrax World Airport Awards)
- Best airport in the U.S. (2018 Wall Street Journal)
- 4 among “mega” airports. (2018 J.D. Power)
